Wizards' Discovery

The wizards identified a number of problems and what the gurus out there have invented that changed grandmothers’ and grandfathers ‘life, the wiz team, being inspired, set on to put our brains for a good work out. After reading a few genius research studies out there, we agreed that there were fewer applications created to mitigate social isolation experiences of the elderly than problems such as forgetting to take medications.

Based on a social innovation report from Singapore Management University (SMU), elderly with wider social networks (have five or more friends) have a relatively more positive measure of mental wellness as compared to those with social network strength of three and below.

Given the nature of being non-muggles, impatience of us, the wizard and witches, is inevitable. With a combination of having ideas whizzing around in our minds, we dished out and chose our favorite ideas using the Crawford Slip method[2], where first, we scribbled ideas around reducing social isolation down on post-its and vote for our three favorite ideas. Ideas vary from using Virtual Reality for a gamified experience, to allowing our respected seniors to utilize the skills they have and be embedded to the society.
